HIM

Ville Hermanni Valo, with hardly nineteen years, worked in sex-shop of its father in the capital of Finland, Helsinki. Surely, it learned much and it saw many things carrying out such office. A little disappointed with the musical surroundings of the moment in the summer of 1995 decided to create their own group along with four friends. It was then when H.I.M. under the trusteeship was born of the movement "Love Metal", created and led by Valo. The sound "Love Metal" contains elements of metal, pop, gothic, glam... An interesting amalgam of styles that give like result a vibrant sound, melancholic and that arrives at the heart from that listens to it. According to the own Valo: First single of the group was "666 Ways To Love: Prologue ". In October of the 96 it leaves single "Wicked Game on sale", an excellent version of the song homónima of Chris Isaak and is the song that it presents to them. In autumn of the 98 it leaves his first album "Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666", that includes in addition to the "Wicked Game" a version of the "Don't Fear The Reaper" of Blue to Öyster Cult and in March of the 99 it leaves single "When Love And Death Embrace". But the true success arrives to them in November of the 99 when Join leaves on sale "Me", first single of its second album: "Romance Razorblade", produced by John Fryer who among others has worked with White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode and engraving in the Rockfield studies of Wales, place where they were born classic like "Bohemian Rapsody" of Queen, "(What's The Story) Morning Glory" of Oasis or the album debut of Black Sabbath. "Join" raises to Me quickly in the lists German and Finnish until reaching nº 1 in both countries and is incluída in the B.S.O. of the German film "13º Floor" produced by Roland Emmerich (director of "Independence Day" or "Godzilla") and although Valo considers a song loose turns single Finnish sold of all history more. The album "Romance Razorblade" leaves the 21 January of 2000 and also arrives at nº 1 in Germany and Finland dragging with himself at the album debut from the band. So it is the success of "Romance Razorblade" that is reedited adding to the songs "666 Your sweet" and "Wicked Game" pertaining to its first disc. And they begin a frenetic tour that takes to all the corners of Europa.

its songs are monothematic, love and death they are mixed until being confused. Also the inclusion of number 666 is very frequent, which as you know it associates the devil, Satanism... And in addition they are called Its Infernal Majesty. Even heartagram, symbol which you see both sides of this text, is very similar to the used star to represent the demon. Because of everything, the band was related to the Satanism and accused by the press of its country to promote in the young people the fire of catholic churches, thing that did not make any grace to the band. In fact, for HIM the 666 are "something that it has to you, something that simply you must obtain although you know that in the end it will destroy to you. Something sweet but that leaves a flavor bitter ". And in addition in its songs never Hell is mentioned neither to Satán nor and, nevertheless, if we can find references to God and the Sky. And with respect to the subject of the death, their letters make us see that, in fact, it is the life the one that separates the people (when the one of one of them finishes) and is the death the one that unites them... for always.
